This cluster of lushly forested and mountainous islands is among the Samales Islands located in the Sulu Archipelago off the tip of the island of Mindanao in the Philippines . Most of the country’s 7,107 islands are small, while the 11 largest islands have more than 90 percent of the total land area.

The Philippines is an archipelago comprising 7,107 islands with a total land area of 300,000km2.The 11 largest islands contains 94% of total land area.The largest of these island is Luzon at about 105,000km2.The next largest islands is the Mindanao at about 95,000km2.
The islands are divided into 3 groups : Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao.The Luzon islands includes Luzon itself, Palawan , Mindoro , Marinduque , Masbate, and Batanes islands.The Visayas is the central group of islands in the Philippines the largest which are: Panay, Negros , Cebu, Bohol, Leyte, Samar.The Mindanao islands include Sulu Archipelago are primarily composed of Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-tawi.
